About DC

DC Manning was born 14 August 1991 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of High Functioning Autism, at the age of 16. In 2011 DC became a self-advocate for Autism Speaks, and as a self-advocate championed such bills as Ava's Law and ABLE Law, which helped children with Autism get the necessary care they need. In 2017 DC became an Autism Speaks Advocacy Ambassador, which now allows him to work more directly with government officials and the media to better help the Autism Community as a whole.

DC also started blogging in 2009, when he launched Strange World Autism. He has gone on to work on such projects as Through My Eyes Autism Blog, Aspie Politics, and The World Around Me. He also has begun writing a book to help others with autism learn coping skills to help them through life.
